THE GUARDIANS OF MOLLY is the story of MOLLY, a little girl whose stuffed animals come to life to fight off the monsters in her closet, and the night everything goes awry & she gets taken to NIGHTMARELAND!
THE GUARDIANS OF MOLLY is a blend of live action with sophisticated puppetry, and computer generated (CG) imaging/animation. Heidi C. Bordogna, writer/director/producer and Matt AUSTIN, master puppet creator, will be creating all of the creatures in the film. Ms. Bordogna and Mr. AUSTIN are currently in development on another puppet project - UNDERDOGS.
We will likely be filming in New York or Pennsylvania and in order to take advantage of the strong tax incentives. The majority of the film would be done on a soundstage, with the remainder on location.
We have some vendors and resources sourced for our puppet fabrication and sets. Based on estimates we've received for other projects, as well as comparable films (listed below) we feel that as high quality VFX have become less and less expensive, it is feasible to budget The Guardians of Molly to between $8-10M.
