THE HAUNT is a subtle, modern take on Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. There is no potion which changes the main character into a monster, rather, it is his own greed, materialism and lack of values and compassion which create the monster, the Haunt, which Jason cannot escape, as he cannot escape himself.
With a tone and reveal, similar to THE SIXTH SENSE or ROSEMARY’S BABY, the style is a much more classic, cerebral elevated horror film, focusing on suspense and tone, rather than shock or gore, to engage the audience.
